Effective Date: October 1, 1997
Identification with NASA, LTP, and IITA

All LTP-supported Web sites should identify themselves as receiving support from NASA LTP. This information may be placed on the core or main page of the site, or on a page of sponsors/credits linked to from the main page. Use of the NASA insignia logo (the blue "meatball" insignia), the NASA logotype (the red "worm" logo), and the NASA seal is restricted to sites within the nasa.gov domain. Sample LTP graphics, which may be used by all projects, are posted at http://learn.ivv.nasa.gov/organization/ltp_logo.html. Exceptions to this rule based on site structure or look and feel will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

All LTP-supported Web sites should provide a hypertext link to the LTP homepage (http://learn.ivv.nasa.gov/) from their sites. This link may be placed on the core or main page of the site, or on a page of sponsors/credits linked to from the main page. The link may be from text or a graphic or both. Sample graphics that may be used for linking are posted at http://learn.ivv.nasa.gov/organization/ltp_logo.html. Exceptions to this rule based on site structure or look and feel will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

 The above applies to:

Web sites begun under IITA funding may provide links to iita.ivv.nasa.gov and references to the IITA for historical purposes, but it must be clear that this is not a current funding source. There is no requirement for projects to mention or link to IITA.

Web sites developed under IITA CANs that have run to conclusion but will be maintained under other funding are encouraged to provide a link to the LTP Web site, but should not identify their funding as being from LTP. These projects may continue to mention the NASA IITA project and link to the IITA Web site for historical purposes.

Web sites developed under IITA CANs that have run to conclusion and will not be maintained under other funding may be transferred to RSPAC for archival and continued public access. These sites' content will be presented with a link to the LTP Web site, but will not be identified as funded by LTP. These sites will mention the NASA IITA project and link to the IITA Web site.

---------------------------------------------

Disposition of Current IITA Web site

The existing IITA Web site will continue to operate at the address iita.ivv.nasa.gov indefinitely. It will carry the following information on the main page.

Links to LTP, all continuing IITA projects, and available archived content will be provided.

---------------------------------------------

Statistics Reporting

LTP-supported Web sites should provide monthly statistics reports. The desired monthly statistics are: total hits, total kilobytes transferred, and unique visitors. These should be included in the standard monthly reports to LTP management.

Total hits is defined as the total number of requests received and responded to by your server, including all files sent, redirects, "Not Modified" responses, and error codes. Total kilobytes transferred is self-explanatory. Unique visitors is the number of unique IP addresses that have accessed your site in the previous month.

Sites that are mirrored must collect and report these statistics from the mirrors as well. Sites that are mirroring or hosting other Web sites must remove those hits from their totals to avoid double booking.

---------------------------------------------

Conformance to Other Guidelines and Rules

All LTP-supported Web sites are expected to conform to the guidelines and rules of their host facilities. This includes NASA-wide and Field Center specific Management Instructions.
